Prospective and New Members Rides.

We intend to host new member rides from April 2024 onwards to give any interested cyclists an insight into road cycling and to meet Club Members. These rides wil be on a Sunday morning starting at Beresford Terrace from 9:00am, just outside Cafe 51. The rides will be local of around 20 miles, roughly an hour and a half duration.
You will be lead by an experienced Club member and given an insight into cycling road craft. This will hopefully take away any concerns or doubt about joining a cycling club and help to improve your confidence on the road. We normally use quieter and less trafficked routes during all Club rides as this helps to build confidence when negotiating the busier routes if you progress to longer rides.
Please contact us via our Facebook page for more information.

Sponsors

We are delighted to announce our sponsors for 2024.

Firstly a huge thanks to the continued support from Arnold Clark BMW, we believe this sponsorship to be one of the longest running sponsorship for a sports club in Scotland and look forward to enhancing this relationship further through events and promotion.

The Club are also delighted to have sponsorship from John Gemmell Coachworks, Auchinleck and Gibson's Auto Services Cumnock.

The club is hugely appreciative of the commitments made by all of our sponsors.

Lead Rider Roles

To ensure the utmost safety for all riders during any training rides, or group rides, a Ride Leader is always appointed.
The Ride Leader will cover the route that you will be taking and advise of any known issues on the road, from roundabouts to traffic lights and any complex junctions before you set off.
Where possible complex routes are avoided to make the ride as safe as possible.
The Ride Leader will be an experienced cyclist and they will keep the group informed on the road as they go, clearly indicating turns on the route, poor surfaces on the road and any hazards, such as parked vehicles.
This information and the "calls" become second nature on group rides after a short while.
We request that any new riders take out British Cycling Membership at Entry Level as a minimum cover of insurance, this is to protect you as a rider in the event of any incidents on the road. Anyone competing in Time Trials, Racing or Competition should have Silver Membership as a minimum.
