2018 Club Hut Run - Icy Success
The annual New Year club ride to the club hut was a massive success. 16 riders left Beresford Tearrace at 9.30 on Sunday morning for the 60 mile round trip. A decision was made to use the A77 all the way to Girvan to avoid the icy back roads, before embarking on the climb of the Byne. Regrouping at the top the group headed for the hut where they were greeted by Vic, Gwyneth, Alan and Gordon with some truly memorable broccoli and stilton and vegetable soups as well as the obligatory cakes and tablet. it was particularly nice to welcome new members and returning faces to the ride. Despite the cold and icy conditions there were no incidents of note, not even a puncture. Thanks to all who participated. Here's to many more memorable outings for the club in 2018.
